Laminating machine is a device used to complete the laminating process. Laminating process is a surface processing process after printing, also known as post-printing laminating, post-printing gluing or post-printing laminating. It refers to the use of laminating machine to cover the surface of the printed product with a layer of 0.012-0.020mm thick transparent plastic film to form a paper-plastic product processing technology. Generally speaking, according to the process used, it can be divided into two types: instant coating and pre-coating, and according to the different film materials, it can be divided into two types: glossy film and matte film.
Laminating machine is mainly used for post-production of advertising pictures and wedding photos. The laminating pictures have high corrosion resistance, waterproof, dustproof, wrinkle resistance and UV erosion resistance, which can produce a strong three-dimensional sense and artistic appeal.

Pre-coating laminating machine refers to the process of pre-coating plastic film and rewinding it before laminating it with paper printed products. Pre-coating laminating machine is a special equipment for laminating printed products with pre-coating plastic film. It consists of four main parts: pre-coating plastic film unwinding, automatic input of printed products, hot pressing lamination, and automatic winding, as well as auxiliary devices such as mechanical transmission, pre-coating plastic film flattening, longitudinal and transverse slitting, and computer control system.
Compared with the instant coating type, the pre-coating laminating machine has many advantages. For example, it reduces pollution and does not harm the human body; the laminating quality will not be affected by different paper properties or ink colors; the pre-coating laminating machine is simpler to operate, and the graphics and text effects after processing are better; wrinkles, bubbles, and shedding are basically eliminated. The disadvantage is that this technology is not yet very mature in China, and there are still some problems to be solved, such as single-sided laminating curling (there are single-sided anti-curling machines, but the price is relatively high), and printed products with silicone oil are difficult to laminar. It is widely used in short-run printing and digital quick printing industries.
